Bulletin 24/2/2017

National finally announces another major policy: 90% of rivers and lakes swimmable by 2040.  Not sure how they’re planning to keep a long promise like that, if they expect to stay in government all that time.  Greens hit back vigorously, pointing out that National is actually lowering standards for what is considered swimmable.  I don’t see how it’s a good strategy for National to announce something that doesn’t seem to be a key election issue for their voter base, but which gives ammunition for Greens to counter-attack.

New Zealand First is slowly but steadily communicating their platform.
