The parties continue to try to frame the narrative on the Budget – National posts impressive-looking numbers, Labour focus on cuts to healthcare and tax cuts for the rich, while the Greens have much to say about cuts to home insulation funding and inaction on climate change.  Housing continues to be a crisis, and the latest Reserve Bank Financial Stability Report lists high mortgage debt as a major risk for the New Zealand economy.
