Bulletin 22/6/2017

Summary:

Todd Barclay resigns, Labour and New Zealand First do their best to make sure the scandal sullies Bill English as well.  In return, National latches onto allegations of a poorly run campaign using foreign students, run by former Labour staff member Matt McCarten – details are scant and yet to be confirmed at this stage, but that doesn’t stop National, ACT and United Future from telling you all about it.

As for actual policy issues, Labour talks about mental health in Christchurch, while the Greens question the rising costs of Auckland’s East West Link motorway.

Things are downhill when scandals drown out policy.
