Bulletin 9/8/2017

The pay equity bill is coming up in parliament – Labour and the Greens are clearly against it, saying it’ll actually make it harder for women to get equal pay.  Labour has a big announcement on pricing water extraction and cleaning up rivers – National thinks this will make people just stop farming instead of innovating water conservation.  ACT and United Future support water pricing, too, so National is alone on this one.  The Greens object to mining on conservation land, greenhouse gas emissions, and water pollution.  New Zealand First revives the Todd Barclay scandal.
